This oil is not from the palm kernel. It is derived form the fruit of the palm tree. The oil is extracted from the flesh of the fruit. In its unprocessed natural state, it has a rich dark red/orange color.
Its vibrant tint provides the clue of its health benefits; it is high in beta-carotene and lycopene, both antioxidants. It’s also packed with Vitamin A and Vitamin E. This oil is roughly 50% saturated fat, mostly from palmitic acid.
