Natural sugars are found naturally in foods such as fruit (fructose) and milk (lactose) and some vegetables. The blue agave plant grows in Mexico. Blue agave powder is made by cutting the leaves off the plant. The juice is then extracted from the core of the agave and distilled to its milky starch powder.
It’s a Fructo-oligosaccharides
Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) are composed of short fructose chains. Blue agave powder is 100% FOS, inulin. This is a natural prebiotic.

Blue agave powder has a has a neutral taste. It’s FOS is an indigestible sugar. They go to your large intestine, where they are fermented by the good bacteria in your gut. This process produces short-chain fatty acids that keep the lining of your gut healthy. Since FOS is not digested, it doesn’t cause a spike in blood sugar.
Put it to Good Use
Blue agave powder is about 130% as sweet as table sugar. You may need to reduce the amount sweetener called for in recipes. It dissolves very quickly in any hot or cold drinks and it can be very easily used in baking recipes. Because it thickens, you may need to adjust the amount of liquids in the recipe.
